The Engineer (April 2018) - UK's Vert Rotors hails portable air compressor breakthrough

The UK developer of a newly launched portable air compressor technology claims that it could help combat one of manufacturing’s most enduring health and safety problems. Developed by Edinburgh firm Vert Rotors, the Nautilus is a lightweight, portable air compressor claimed to deliver pressure on demand that was previously only achievable using large, static compressors.

Insider (Feb 2018) - Sales surge for Edinburgh's Vert Rotors

Engineering start-up Vert Rotors more than doubled turnover last year as the Edinburgh-based manufacturer secured four new patents on its micro-compressor technology. Sales topped the £526,000 during 2017, up from £245,000 the previous year. To keep up with demand, the business has expanded its manufacturing facility and hired five new engineers.

The company’s end of year results have revealed that the firm’s turnover has grown by 197 per cent in rapid year on year growth and they have created a new compressor, which is three times more powerful, producing 200% higher pressure than its nearest competitor on the market for the same input of electric power.





Vert Rotors wins top prize at the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association Awards

The company's compressors are designed for aerospace, medical and other applications where vibration and noise are not acceptable. Each component is made in its Edinburgh workshop using high-precision milling technology brought to the UK for the first time following a £1.5m cash injection by a consortium of investors, and a support grant from Scottish Enterprise.
